These figures are hand-carved wooden figures from Portuguese or Galician folk art. The figure on the right is identified as a Gaiteiro, which translates to bagpiper, a traditional musician from regions like Galicia and northern Portugal. The figure on the left, identified as DA-FONTE referring to the carving s source or artisan), is consistent with representations of a Leiteira, or milkmaid, carrying a jug on her head, a common scene in rural folk art.
These figures are typical examples of traditional European folk art, often depicting everyday life or cultural archetypes.
