The album shown is Mawood by the legendary Egyptian singer Abdel Halim Hafez, recorded in 1971 and considered a cornerstone of Egyptian music. This classic blends traditional Arabic music with modern instrumentation, featuring Hafez s full orchestra alongside elements like organ and electric guitar played by Omar Khorshid, adding a distinctive groove. Composed by Baligh Hamdi, Mawood is renowned for its hypnotic, soulful performance and has been reissued on vinyl with remastered audio and new liner notes by Mario Choueiry of the Institut du Monde Arabe. It was part of Mr Faraj trips to Turkey to Switzerland in September 2025
