Description:
This is a Bagua also known as the Eight Trigrams, an ancient Chinese symbol and concept fundamental to Taoist cosmology, Feng Shui, and the I Ching (Book of Changes). It originated in ancient China, with legends attributing its creation to the mythical Emperor Fu Xi, who reputedly derived the eight trigrams from patterns on the back of a mythical creature around 3322 BCE. This particular piece appears to be a carved object, likely made of jade or wood, designed as a decorative item or a Feng Shui tool for protection and promoting harmony in a space. While the user states a weight of 0.31 grams, this is an unusually small weight for such a substantial carved item and suggests a possible misinterpretation, as similar items found online, such as the Old natural jade hand-carved statue of ba gua inkstone. It was obtained by the AL Faraj Gallery on the 23rd of September 2025
