Description:
This is a Buddhist stupa, also known as a chorten in the Tibetan tradition. A stupa is a mound-like structure that serves as a Buddhist shrine or reliquary.
The structure is highly symbolic, with each part representing an element or a stage on the path to enlightenment
The Base Represents the crossed legs of the meditating Buddha.
The Dome Symbolizes the body of the Buddha and the universe.
The Spire Represents the Buddha s head and the journey to enlightenment.
The object in the image is a decorative and smaller-scale version of a larger stupa, likely used as a votive offering or for a home altar. It is typically made of materials like brass or copper and often features inlaid stones, such as the turquoise and coral seen here, which are considered to represent spiritual healing, compassion, protection, and prosperity in Himalayan culture.
