Description:
This is a vintage or antique abacus, a traditional calculating tool consisting of a rectangular frame with ten vertical rods fitted with movable beads in a 5+2 configuration, with five beads below the bar and two above it. The beads are moved toward or away from the central horizontal bar to represent numbers and perform calculations. This type of abacus was commonly used in Russia and Europe as an early calculating device before the advent of modern calculators, and it features wooden beads set within an aged metal frame showing signs of use.
