This is a hand-carved wooden bust, likely from the Solomon Islands, in the traditional Nguzunguzu style. Made from dark, dense wood with shell inlays highlighting the facial features and head decorations, it features a strong jawline, stylized form, and prominent shell-inlaid eyes, representing an ancestral spirit. These figures were traditionally placed on war canoe prows to protect the crew during expeditions.
