Manufactured by American Lead Pencil Company, A pen and pencil manufacturing company located in Hoboken, New Jersey founded in 1865 by Edward Weissenborn. In 1905, the company established the Venus name as a trademark for its drafting pencils. In 1944, it started producing Venus fountain pens. In 1956, American changed its name to the Venus Pen Pencil Corporation, relocating its offices at that time to New York City. Venus was sold in 1966 to a group of private investors, and a year later it purchased Esterbrook and became the Venus-Esterbrook Company.
