Ted Lapidus was a French Fashion designer. He was born in Paris and was the son of a Russian Jewish tailor. He was considered the creator and pioneer of the unisex fashion look and is credited with introducing a military and safari look into haute couture.
In 1957, Lapidus had opened his first boutique in Paris with the financial backing of his friend, the singer Charles Aznavour. By mid seventies, he had a chain of over 35 Lapidus stores and a successful business venture which includes pens, sunglasses, and watches.
