Description:
The Royal Demuth pipe is an American-made smoking pipe produced by the William Demuth Company (WDC), a manufacturer founded in 1862. Typically crafted from imported briar root with a vulcanite stem, some examples feature sterling silver accents such as a band or rim. Introduced around the 1930s, many Royal Demuth models included an adaptable filter system that allowed for the use of different filter types or smoking without one. The Royal Demuth line remained a recognizable series within WDC’s range until the company’s liquidation in 1972 following its acquisition by S.M. Frank Co.
