Ali Shaikh, check details Ali Shaikh, Bahraini (1940 - ) Ali Shaikh was born in 1940. He attended the Lebanese Art Academy at Lebanon for four years, where he studied drawing and painting amongst other subjects. His works stand testimony to his virtuosity and artistic sensibilities. He presented several exhibitions of his paintings in Middle East region. While drawing from memories of childhood, he has also been inspired by Palestinian struggle. Recognition even on the regional level was not long in coming. Beginning with the first prize for his Kifah Boor Saeed in 1959. Regionally he held 9 solo exhibitions, among them 4 in Bahrain, 3 in Lebanon, 1 in UAE and 1 in Libya.
Ali Shaikh’s paintings were widely seen in almost all of the exhibitions held by ministries, galleries or associations. He designed Bahrain postal stamp for Los Angeles Olympic Games. He was a teacher of art in Ministry of Education. Most of the present artists are his students, his two daughters Diana Al Shaikh and Nadine Al Shaikh are among them.
