Faika Al Hassan, Bahraini by birth, graduated from University of Baghdad in 1977 with an economics degree. Faika attended many Arts and Painting courses in Bahrain and Beirut. She has participated in many exhibitions across the region (Gulf Countries, Middle-East and in Egypt) and she has also been invited to many art manifestations in Australia and Europe.
Her early works centered on expressive depictions of women in general, with the body taking centre stage. Since then she has shifted to a more experimental approach, in which seemingly innumerable, small human figures inhabit large and anonymous spaces. Her works have been exhibited in the west and quite extensively in the Middle East.
